Dry, compacted gravelly soil of campsite parking areas, with Trifolium cernuum, T. glomeratum, T. retusum, T. subterraneum, T. repens, Stellaria pallida, Poa annua. Corolla pink, slightly longer than calyx; calyx lobes narrowly lanceolate, ascending; heads short-pedunculate, flowers becoming reflexed, on pedicels ca 1 mm long; common weedy annual, forming tangled mats on edge of grass in compacted soil.
