(1.9 mi. from Hwy 36), go W on N Canyon Rd. past Mill Hollow Rd. At 4.7 mi. from Hwy 36 turn N at Meadow Creek (FR 425). Stop along Meadow Creek, 0.3 mi. N of North Canyon Rd. (5.0 from start). Site SP#1. Elev. 2175 m.

Mixed conifer forest of subalpine fir, Douglas fir, lodgepole pine,and aspen mixed with Artemisia tridentata ssp. vaseyana and snowberry. Substrate sloping. Tall, upright. Upper leaf surface glabrous. Banner with dorsal hairs, tip blue. Phenology: Flowers.
