Plants growing on the upper northeast-facing slopes. In silt loam. Aspect: 45 degrees, Slope 35 percent. Associated species: Agropyron spicatum, Poa sandbergii, Phlox longifolia, Artemisia tridentata. Wildfires in the last 20 years have killed most of the big sagebrush. High quality shrub-steppe.
