1.5 hectare kettle lake surrounded on south side by 0.5 h floating mat dominated by Carex lasiocarpa, C. rostrata, Kalmia microphylla, Vaccinium oxycoccos, Drosera anglica, D. rotundifolia, which is bordered on the upland side by a moist, moss-covered zone w/ K. microphylla, Lycopus uniflorus, Agrostis scabra, V. oxycoccos which grades into a dense stand of 1.5 m shrub Spiraea douglasii. This zone is surrounded by trees of Amelanchier alnifolia, Crategus douglasii w/ Agrostis stolonifera, Calamgrostis canadensis in the understory. Extensive fen to N of the lake characterized by Carex vesicaria, Salix spp., and scattered patches of Pinus contorta. Surrounding forest mixed w/ Pipo, Pico, Psma, Thpl, Pimo and Abgr. Abundance: one rhiz. clump on saturated peat w/ little moss accum. on the W side of the lake dominated by C. arcta. Water Chem: pH 6.9, conductivity 20 mmhos, hardness 9.2, Ca 2.5, Mg 0.6, K 0.9, alkalinity 6.5 (all mg/l). Phenology: Uncertain.
