Ca 3 acre kettle lake surrounded on S side by 1 acre floating mat dominated by Carex lasiocarpa, C. rostrata, Kalmia microphylla, Vaccinium oxycoccos, Drosera anglica, and D. rotundifolia, which is surrounded on the upland side by a moist, moss-covered zone w/ K. micorphylla, Lycopus uniflorus, Agrostis scabra, and V. oxycoccos which grades into a dense stand of 1.5 m high Spiraea douglasii surrounded by trees of Crategus dougalsii, Amelanchier alnifolia w/ Calamagrostis canadensis and A. stoloifera in the understory. Surrounding forest mixed w/ Pinus ponderosa, P. contorta, P. monticola, Thuja plicata, Psuedotsuga menziesii, and Abies grandis all well-represented. Water chem: pH 6.9, conductivity 16 mmhos, alkalinity 4 mg/L, Ca 2 mg/l, Mg 0.5 mg/L. Abundance: common below dense Spirea douglasii on mist substrate w/ little moss acumulation. Phenology: Fruits.
