Dry sunny serpentine ledges, southwest aspect; with Ceanothus cuneatus, Toxicodendron, Aspidotis densa. Flowers white to pale pink, 5-9.5 millimeters long, fading pink, petals erect or nearly so, anthers dark red, inflorescences to 18x10 centimeters wide, with up to 64 flowers, stems 13-48 centimeters tall, stem leaf bases variable; truncate to decurrent, rosettes dense, 2-7 centimeter diameters; robust and common. Phenology: Fertile.
