Stable fringe of talus below cliffs and in soil of rock crevices; volcanic parent material; west exposure, 70% slope. Growing with Agropyron spicatum, Holodiscus dumosus, Ribes cereum, P. niveum, and Prunus virginiana. Rare in region - found only in first major draw SW of river mouth; plants .2- .5 meters tall.
