Subalpine meadow ringed with Abies lasiocarpa, Chamaecyparis nootkatensis, Rhodendron albiflorum, and Tsuga mertensiana. Common species in meadow include Carex spectabilis, Carex nigricans, Gentiana calycosa, Ligusticum, and Deschampsia cespitosa. Occassional on dry slope adjacent to meadow; rays light purple, disk flowers dirty yellow. Phenology: Flowers.
