(1.9 mi. from Hwy 36), go W on N Canyon Rd. past Mill Hollow Rd. At 4.7 mi. from Hwy 36 turn N at Meadow Creek (FR 425). At intersection of FR 425 (Eightmile Creek Rd.) and Skinner Canyon Rd. (FR 403) follow Skinner Canyon Rd. ca. 1.8 mi. to pass on Sherman Peak ridge. Site SP#5. Elev. 2730 m.

Open subalpine meadow with mixed forbs, including: lupine, Rudbeckia, Potentilla gracillus, Carex hoodii. Taprooted, stem pubescence appressed ascending; basal leaves 1-3-nerved, uniformly hairy,without petiole, cauline leaves narrow, lance-oblong; pedicles not glandular just hairy; involucre bracts subequal and somewhat overlapping, hairy, ± spreading; rays white to pink; achenes 2-nerved, strigose.
