Sandy beach, among driftwood, with Atriplex dioica, Cakile maritima. Middle phyllaries with stout, dull hardened points; scattered along the beach, in sand in front of beach wall, below residential homes; 8 basal rosettes counted, one stem with a flower head; globe artichoke plants seen as dead stalks on one property above, wild plants escaped on the beach reverting to spiny wild form.
