Habitat: Scarce in sage steppe on brown sandy soil. Sundy southeast aspect. Area grazed by cattle. ¶With Amsinckia tessellata, Stipa comata, Bromus tectorum, Sphaeralcea. Scarce in sage steppe. Flowers white fading to pinkish-white. Several thousand plants in 20 m diameter area. Phenology: Flowers.
