I found this species in two very dissimilar habitats: on the dry northeastern slopes of Mt. Two Top and in moist woods around Indian Lake. Associated with Sedum lanceolatum, Festuca idahoensis, and Rumex paucifolius on Mt. Two Top; and with Pseudotsuga menziesii, Helianthelia guinguenervis, and Epilobium angustifolium in moist woods around Indian Lake. This species strongly resembles Lomatium dissectum, especially when not in fruit. Ligusticum is distinguished by persistent fibrous leaf bases at the base of the plant, a characteristic not found in Lomatium dissectum. Voucher: Whitehead, G.S. 1983. M.S., Idaho State U.
