Seaside alder grove, in shaded organic moist soil depression near Typha patch, with Eleocharis palustris, Solanum dulcamara. Annual with lower branches decumbent to ascending-spreading; new leaves farinose on lower surface, ca. 200+ plants; robust when growing alone; depauperate in a crowd.
