Washington: Chelan County: Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Chelan Ranger District.¶Okanogan-Wenatchee NF Fen Study, Poison Springs From Hwy 97 turn on the Methow Valley road and follow it about 5 mi to the Black Canyon Road (FS4010). Follow the 4010 all the way up to intersection with 8020 rd. Turn north onto 8020 and follow it approx. 5 mi to the headwaters of Poison Creek. The wetlands can be reached by walking down the unmaintained 145 spur to the creek and then walking up the creek to the wetland.¶ ¶ Elev. 5690 ft.

Aspect: 270. Slope: 20% Light: partially shaded. Topography: toeslope.¶This wetland is high up near the top of the ridge, a valley that strangely runs parallel to the ridge and contains several spring sites. Even though it has a fair slope (20 percent), moss development has taken place, it is a long narrow fen. ¶Associated Species: ABLA, PIEN, PICO, CAI6, CASP5, LEGL, RILA, LOIN5, VAMY2, LICA2, SALIX, RHAL2, LUPO2, SYFOF, SETR, PLAQ2, SAOD2, PYAS, PLST4, PLST4, PYSE, ERANA3, ARM04, CAREX, VEVI. Substrate: peat. ¶Location Notes: plants were growing in the open meadow parts of the wetland complex. Substrate: terricolous.
